The Destruction of Zyntar
Someone had been working in the shadows while everyone was too preoccupied with their newfound peace. Slowly, one by one, the rulers of the kingdoms began to vanish, leaving in their place a single black feather with a red eye.
Some believed that it was the work of the Deities, that they had grown tired of the races and wished to annihilate them all. Afraid for themselves, they lashed out in fear, and began to attack the temples and destroy their monuments. When a Deity appeared in front of them, seeking an explanation for their sudden destruction and desecration, the only answer was a spear piercing his heart.
He died instantly, for the weapon was one that had been crafted by a dark mage who must have known he was coming... For it had been enchanted with a fatal poison that only one close to the Deities would have known about.
When the news spread that a human had killed a Deity, all the races saw it as a sign that the Deities were meant to be destroyed... The Deities, on the other hand, sought vengeance for their kin who had been brutally murdered only for seeking an answer to a betrayal of their race.
Thus, a massive war began. The races fought against the Deities, their sheer numbers were enough to overwhelm the Deities into defending at first, but the Deities quickly grew tired of defense, and unleashed their powers on the races. They wreaked havoc on the world, and all those who stood in their way were destroyed. The rest were allowed to live, to spread the news that the Deities were angered, and that the races would never be forgiven for destroying their kin.
Wild rumors spread that the Deities had given up on humanity, and had decided to reset the world. When word of it reached the Deities, they were even more enraged with the races. It worsened when they discovered that the races had been planning to cut all ties with them. They unleashed their powers on the races yet again.
Their first targets were the main kingdoms, Lysithia of the Light, and Lerenthia of the Dark. Without their rulers to protect them, they fell easily, and all that remained of them were the ruins of cities that held only echoes of their former glory.
The war affected the Nymphs above any other races. The war had left a darkened aura surrounding everything, and without clean water and clear skies, the miasma began to corrupt them. Soon, they disappeared, never to be seen again. No one knows if they went into hiding, or if they are truly gone forever. Fear for their own existence pitted even the Neutral races against the Deities, causing even more chaos within Zyntar.
Zyntar gradually changed because of the war, and a new race emerged. They called themselves Sirens. However, because they were created in the midst of war, the races believed them to be cursed or spies for the Deities...
In an unfamiliar world, the Sirens are searching for the reason of their existence, and the hate the other races hold for them. They have to deal with other problems as well, many of their people have suddenly fallen sick, with no visible cause for their illness.
The races, having lost the ability to communicate with each other, have all set their sights on the same goal. Complete destruction of the Deities. It's either them or the Deities, and anyone on that side will be considered an enemy...
