Schwartz City...
The lights used to be brilliant outside the theaters as the crowds flooded to see the latest drama productions. People would come from miles to visit the shores of the great Schwartz River or to taste the one of a kind sausage made in the old warehouse down on Main Street. It was a glorious time for Schwartz City.
Too bad that was fifty years ago.
The fallen...
Somewhere along the line, the city fell. Poverty hit most of the quaint, brick row house neighborhoods hard. It got to the point where some families had a hard time affording food, let alone rent. Along with the bankrupt businesses, the schools fell apart as well. Now things seem like they can't get any worse.
Only the top of the top work in the tall skyscrapers that keep the city standing. With their polished cars, they drive to work every morning, ignoring the depressing faces blocks away...and they don't even live there.
An escape...
When the city's economy collapsed, real estate spiked on the other side of the river as people rushed to escape the devastation. The wealthy found refuge on the other side of the river and turned the land into a small community of it's own. As time drew on, more people moved to the Schwartz suburbs. It evened out it's wealth and now it's not just the ultimate rich living there but everyone except those stuck on the other side of the river.
And now they're stuck together
The local government saw the failing schools in the city and decided it would be a good idea to build a new high school. One that would unite and give some students from the city a chance to become more than just continued generations of poverty. So they built Schwartz High School on the edge of the river on the suburban side. Brilliant, right?
It was a public school which meant some students would be redistricted to fill the school and not everyone was happy with it. Some didn't want their children mixing with the 'troublesome' city kids while those from the city still had bitter feelings and foresaw the school as a failure.
The parents bicker,
the students fight one another,
and those who want peace are caught in the middle...
It's enough to drive someone...
